Biography

Peter was born on May 20th 1936 and grew up in Melbourne, Victoria. At an early age he was inspired to obtain work in the circus, performing at showgrounds across Australia. He later competed in rodeo and wrestling and was also a distinguished martial artist & ballroom dancer.

Peter built a property called the "Lazy B Ranch" at Mangrove Mountain near the Central Coast in NSW. Here he ran rodeos and live stunt shows and began training stunt performers. The late Max Aspin and Bob Hicks were just two of the many stunt performers who trained with Peter at the "Lazy B Ranch".

All three later worked together at the nearby "Old Sydney Town" amusement park, performing live action shows.

Although Peter performed many fantastic stunts throughout his career, he is best known for his legendary 86 foot motorcycle jump off the Lurline Bay cliffs in Sydney in 1974 for the feature film "Stone", which set a World Record. Peter also set a World Record in 1972 for "The Longest Drag Behind a Horse Drawn Vehicle", achieving a distance of 700 metres.

In 1977 Peter was named Stuntman of the year at the inaugural "Professional Stuntman's Awards".

Peter passed away at the Gold Coast in Queensland on January 16th 2001 (age 64), where he had been working at Movie World in the "Police Academy Stunt Show". Here he was very much loved and enjoyed the nick name "Jurassic Pete"; given to him by the younger stunt performers he guided through training.
